Local artists transform Citi Plaza into “Wonder Land” this holiday season
LONDON, ON – Local artists are taking over a vacant store at Citi Plaza this holiday season, and you are invited to join them! The three-weeks long event series, titled “Wonder Land”, kicks off Thursday, November 30 from 4:30-6:30pm with the Opening Party, where guests will have the opportunity to chat with the artists and learn about the different upcoming projects.
Wonder Land is a series of free events that unfolds over several weekends in December. From live musical performances, film screenings, interactive art experiences, and silent discos, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
“Wonder Land is an art experience that blends creativity and sensory engagement using multiple mediums to create a truly unique environment. The space reimagines a traditional retail space for something new and different,” Kathy Navackas, Wonder Land Event Organizer, explains.
“Multiple artists are involved, working with an array media including sculpture, paint, light, film, and sound have developed a one-of-a-kind experience in Downtown London. Our additional programming with music, films, and silent disco nights add another dimension to the experience of being in the space.”
As part of the Downtown for the Holidays campaign, this event series has a festive focus that is bound to get you into the holiday spirit. Enjoy some holiday shopping at your favourite downtown businesses and the Holly Jolly Holiday Market before each event to get the full experience!
